The WWE Night of Champions premium live event has come and gone and now all eyes are looking ahead to SummerSlam which is set to emanate from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis next month.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that the current plan is for 13 or 14 matches to be on the SummerSlam card across two nights. It was also noted that one of the matches will be Gunther vs. Nick Aldis, which was teased at Night of Champions, and is the reason why both men were written off TV for now.
Nick Aldis first signed with WWE back in 2023 and has been working as the SmackDown General Manager since October of that same year. He has yet to wrestle since joining WWE and has not wrestled since October of 2023 when he competed at ACW Bluegrass Con.
WWE SummerSlam will air live from Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, August 1st and Sunday, August 2nd and the current card can be seen below.
