Big WWE shows have a problem these days because they sometimes fail to top the NXT TakeOver event on the previous day. WrestleMania 34 is going to be an epic event with six-hours of programming on the main show whether we like it or not. We’re likely to see a few surprises and a couple more WrestleMania Moments etched into WWE History, but they might not be able to top NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.
Not only is the show headlined by what promises to be an outstanding match in Andrade Cien Almas vs Aleister Black for the NXT Title, but Johnny Gargano might just get his revenge on Tommaso Ciampa as well. However, the show stealer might just end up being a stacked 6-man ladder match for a title that hasn’t even been revealed yet.
William Regal took the microphone at this week’s television tapings for NXT’s WWE Network show and announced the first-ever NXT North American Champion will be crowned at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans in a ladder match consisting of EC 3, Lars Sullivan, The Velveteen Dream, Adam Cole, Killian Dane, and Ricochet.
So if you were wondering how Ricochet and EC 3 might do in NXT, we get to see them in a ladder match with some of NXT’s top talents right off the bat to really get things going.
There is an incredible amount of talent in that group of guys and they very well could tear the house down in New Orleans. The booked the match very well with guys like Sullivan and Dane in there too who can really catch people as they fly around.
Let’s hope WWE really brings it with their main roster show in the Superdome because at this rate some of the most exciting things are happening in WWE’s developmental territory. In all honesty, a match like this has all the makings of being the best match of WrestleMania weekend.
