WWE made a big announcement on Wednesday when it was revealed that former NXT Tag Team Champion Simon Gotch had been released. There was some speculation last summer that Simon Gotch, or possibly both of The Vaudevillains would be released after Gotch got into a fight with Sin Cara backstage, but WWE didn’t release either Gotch or Aiden English.
In regards to Gotch, it’s being reported that his personality rubbed a lot of people the wrong way backstage.
Aiden English is still with the company, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that he’s supposed to get a singles push now that the team has been broken up. It was noted that English is a talented singer and he saw some success using a singing gimmick in NXT prior to forming The Vaudevillains. It’s not known if WWE will be bringing the gimmick back for his singles run.
Sonjay Dutt recently decided to return to Impact Wrestling to work as part of Jeff Jarrett’s inner circle according to PWInsider. Dutt received several tryouts to work with WWE as a producer and a coach, and he also had an offer to return to ROH as a wrestler.
Although Dutt was offered a full time job with WWE, he decided to turn it down because he didn’t want to uproot his family and move his wife and daughters to Orlando.
