Ronda Rousey made her epic debut back at the Royal Rumble last month and whilst the many of the WWE Universe wasn’t shocked by her blunt introduction to the world of WWE, it seems that her closest friends were surprised that she was in Philadelphia for one of wrestling’s biggest events of the year.
It has been reported over the past week all about the lengths that WWE went to ensuring that Ronda’s debut was a secret from the WWE Universe, but it seems that it was a huge secret that even Ronda’s friend and fellow WWE superstar Shayna Baszler didn’t know about.
The current NXT superstar finally opened up about her surprise when she saw her fellow horsewoman make her way out to a WWE ring last weekend.
“I was just as surprised as everyone else, she kept that from all of us. Because, in her own words, she wanted us to feel the genuine excitement that the rest of the world felt. We worked hard to get where we’re at – all of us – so to see her genuinely happy and finally getting to soak in that reward is great.”
She continued: “I’ve known Ronda for awhile and everything she decides to do she dives head-first one-hundred percent into. So, I have no doubt she’ll be just as dominant in WWE as she’s been at everything else.”
