WrestleMania 34 has experienced a few roadblocks but they were able to go around them with ease. Roman Reigns narrowly escaped being implicated in a steroid scandal, Daniel Bryan was cleared just in time, and Braun Strowman can’t wait to give everyone his hands including the people at Wendy’s.

But one Mania match might be in a bit of trouble because Shane McMahon is out of commission. The last time we saw Shane McMahon on SmackDown Live he was taking an indefinite leave of absence and was brutally destroyed by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Following that attack, Shane-O took a well-deserved vacation in the Caribbean with his family.

But apparently, things didn’t go well for Shane McMahon while he was in paradise because WWE reports Vince McMahon’s son came down with a bad infection due to a case of acute diverticulitis and an umbilical hernia.

Shane spent several days in an Antigua hospital before being flown to New York City where he is currently in an NYC area hospital being treated with heavy doses of antibiotics. You know they’re serious because they said hospital instead of “medical facility.”

Upon further investigation from doctors, they discovered McMahon also suffered an umbilical hernia due to the attack which will require surgery after the infection is taken care of.

McMahon was initially diagnosed with a laryngeal contusion as well as trapezius and rhomboid strains as a result of the dastardly beatdown from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Most people assumed this would set up a tag team match for WrestleMania and things were looking that way as well.

Daniel Bryan’s recent medical clearance made it pretty apparent that the end result of this year-long story would be Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in NOLA. But apparently, those plans could be up in the air at this point.

Only time will tell what WWE ends up doing with this situation. But if Shane McMahon isn’t able to compete then things could get very interesting as WWE is forced to call yet another audible on the Road To WrestleMania.

We will keep you updated as always when we hear anything new on the subject. But in the meantime, it might be a good idea to keep your fingers crossed for Shane McMahon as he continues to fight this nasty medical problem.
