Shane McMahon made his big return to WWE on Saturday night when he entered the 30 man Royal Rumble match, but it looks like Shane’s return has already come to an end. Following the Royal Rumble it was reported that there was significant backstage heat on Shane McMahon due to the work he did as a producer for the 30 man Royal Rumble match.

Ringside News is reporting that Shane has been let go. The report notes that the WWE writers were told in a “semi-quiet way” that “there will be no more creative discussions about Shane McMahon.” It’s also being said that the writers “moved on to other creative discussions.”

Plans had called for Shane McMahon to be a regular on the red brand moving forward, but Shane is no longer set to be part of Raw, Elimination Chamber or WrestleMania 38. It was also noted that Shane McMahon has not been an employee of WWE since he returned to the company.

“Vince had no choice. Shane created chaos, had everyone in an uproar, pissed off everyone in the Rumble, openly buried other producers, and was changing things that Vince wanted. Vince had no other choice but to send him home,” a source said.

Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
