Sunday night at SummerSlam Sasha Banks put the WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Charlotte, and many fans were shocked to see Charlotte win the match.
PWInsider is reporting that the reason why Sasha dropped the belt is because she’s being given time off to heal up from nagging injuries. The decision to have Sasha Banks drop the title to Charlotte was made about a week or so ago.
As noted, Sasha Banks has been removed from listings for upcoming WWE live events, and the next event she’s being advertised for will take place on September 23rd in Moline, IL.
Nikki Bella returned at SummerSlam and she teamed with Natalya and Alexa Bliss and they faced off against Becky Lynch, Naomi and Carmella. Nikki got the win for her team and she also debuted a new finisher.
After the match Nikki confirmed that she has officially joined the SmackDown roster. She says she’s excited to be on SmackDown because her brother in law Daniel Bryan will be there, and she’s very excited to see what becomes of the Women’s division on the blue brand.
