It was rumored earlier in the day that Rusev might return on Monday Night Raw and return he did. Roman Reigns, Sheamus and The Authority opened the show with a promo and Rusev made an appearance during the segment, making his return as he attacked Roman Reigns.
Rusev then went on to compete in the main event against Roman Reigns which ended in a DQ. Reigns won the match after King Barrett interfered and hit Roman Reigns with the Bullhammer. Reigns then hit Barrett, Rusev and Sheamus with a steel chair to end the show.
