For years Vince McMahon was synonymous with WWE, but he’s no longer involved with the company due to the Janel Grant lawsuit. McMahon has been laying low for time some now, but there’s been a lot of speculation regarding that the future holds for Vince and what his next project could be.
Recently there was a rumor making the rounds claiming that FOX may be holding a spot on their network for a new wrestling promotion created by Vince McMahon. However, FOX issued a statement which made it clear that there’s no truth to the rumor.
Dave Meltzer shared an update on Vince McMahon’s new company on Wrestling Observer Radio and emphasized that McMahon is not starting a new wrestling promotion.
“He’s not starting a wrestling promotion, I can tell you that. He’s starting an entertainment company, yeah. There was stuff floating around yesterday of him starting a wrestling company and those close to him say, ‘No, that is not happening.'”
It was reported last year that Vince McMahon was in the process of starting up what was described as a “entertainment hub company.” The purpose of the company is to financially back, develop, and produce productions for film and television. Several WWE alumni are reportedly working for the company including former WWE COO Brad Blum.
Stay tuned for updates.
