This week’s episode of NXT was a huge show as several big matches were confirmed for Roadblock. During the show it was announced that NXT Women’s Champion Giulia will face off against NXT Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a winner takes all match for both titles.
WWE has clearly been building to a big Giulia vs. Stephanie Vaquer match for some time now, but many fans were surprised when the title vs. title stipulation was announced.
Bryan Alvarez recently discussed the match on Wrestling Observer Live and noted that one of the competitors in the match is banged, and will be taking time off after Roadblock.
“Now, when this first happened, I was like, ‘My god, what? What is going on? Why is this happening here?’ And without spoiling it – because if I spoil it, I spoil the match – one of these women is banged up, needs time off. And so they’re doing the match, and then she’s taking time off. So that’s what happened.”
PWInsider is now reporting that NXT Women’s Champion Giulia is dealing with some issues and is said to be banged up. It was noted that there’s no major injury, but one person described it as “bumps and bruises.” Giulia is expected to face off against Stephanie Vaquer at Roadblock.
