Sami Zayn’s storyline with The Bloodline has been the most talked about storyline in all of wrestling for months now and anticipation was at an all time high heading into Sami’s match with Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber. Unfortunately for Sami Zayn it was Roman Reigns who walked out with the gold.

Zayn challenged The Tribal Chief for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and the fans didn’t hesitate to chant “f**k you Roman” early on. Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn faced off for a few minutes before making a move as they soaked in the reaction from the Montreal crowd that was clearly in support of Sami Zayn.

Finally they clashed and Roman Reigns got the upper hand as he mocked the crowd for their “Sami” chants. Roman threw Sami out of the ring and beat him down at the barricade in front of Sami’s wife. Roman taunted Sami’s wife and told her that this is all Sami’s fault as he continued to wear him down.

Roman threw Sami back into the ring and Sami managed to build momentum after hitting a clothesline. He sent Roman over the top rope then beat Roman down at the barricade. Sami followed up by kissing his wife before going to the top rope. Roman hit him in the face as soon as he got to the top then went for a superplex from the second rope, but Sami reversed it into a sunset flip powerbomb for a two count.

Sami got Roman in the corner and went for a Helluva Kick, but Roman hit Sami with the Superman Punch for a two count. Sami Zayn ended up getting the momentum back and hitting a Superman Punch on Roman Reigns followed by the Helluva Kick. The Tribal Chief kicked out at two and Sami set him up for another Helluva Kick. Roman got out of the ring and hit Sami in the face as he tried to go for a DDT through the ropes. Roman ran around the ring for a spear, but Sami got out of the way and Roman ran into the barricade. Sami put him in the ring for a Blue Thunder Bomb which Roman kicked out of.

As Sami tried to grab Roman from behind Roman backed up and knocked out the referee into the corner. Sami hit the Helluva Kick while the referee was out, so there was no one there to count the pin. Jimmy Uso entered the ring and hit Sami with three superkicks and a splash from the top rope. He put Roman on top of Sami and a new referee got in the ring to count the pin. Sami kicked out as Jimmy looked on in disbelief.

Jimmy Uso got up on the apron but Sami kicked him off then ran into a spear for a two count. They both sat up and Roman screamed at Sami as he said, “I was trying to help you!” Roman went for a Superman Punch but accidentally hit the second referee instead of Sami. Paul Heyman grabbed a chair from under the ring then handed it to Roman. Jey Uso got in the ring and stood between Roman and Sami. Roman held up the chair and offered it to Jey who took it. Jey stood behind Roman similar to how Sami stood behind Roman at the Royal Rumble. Paul Heyman asked him what he was waiting for. Roman took the chair from Jey then pushed his face. Sami went to spear Roman, but accidentally hit Jey instead and Roman destroyed Sami with the chair. Roman Reigns hit Sami Zayn with another spear then a ref slid in and counted the three for Roman. The Tribal Chief looked on at Sami Zayn’s wife and shook his head.

After the match Jimmy Uso got in the ring and started beating Sami Zayn down. Kevin Owens made his surprise return as the crowd went wild. Owens took out Jimmy then hit Roman Reigns with the Stunner. Jimmy got in the ring only to get hit with a Stunner. KO followed up by putting Jimmy Uos through the announce table with a powerbomb. He grabbed a steel chair and set his sights on Roman Reigns, but Paul Heyman started attacking him from behind so Owens hit him with the Stunner.

It looked like Owens was going to attack Roman again. However, he got out of the way and let Sami hit Reigns with the Helluva Kick before exiting the ring.
