Roman Reigns made his return to WWE programming at the SummerSlam pay-per-view last year, and he went on to win the Universal Championship at the Payback pay-per-view. Reigns has been the Universal Champion since then, and he’s been dominating the competition on the SmackDown brand.

A few weeks ago John Cena made his return to WWE at Money in the Bank, and he interrupted Roman’s celebration after the main event. Cena then made it clear that he wanted to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam, and after weeks of promos they finally faced off on Saturday night.

Roman Reigns dominated John Cena and just taunted him while Cena attempted to roll Roman up for the pin, but Roman kicked out. Every time Cena tried to fight back Roman Reigns just knocked him back down and talked trash to him.

Cena caught a second wind and hit Reigns with an Attitude Adjustment, but he kicked out. Cena then put Reigns through the announce table with an Attitude Adjustment on the outside, and he then threw Reigns back in the ring for the pin, but he kicked out again.

Reigns and Cena continued to go back and forth, and Cena hit Roman with an Attitude Adjustment from the second rope, but Roman still kicked out.

Cena mocked Reigns and went for the spear, but Reigns kicked Cena as he was running. Cena and Reigns continued to battle back and forth, but the end of the match came when Roman Reigns went for a spear of his own and put Cena away.

Roman Reigns was celebrating and looking down on John Cena when all of a sudden Brock Lesnar’s music hit and The Beast made his way to the ring.

Reigns and Heyman looked nervous as Brock circled the ring. Brock then stepped into the ring and came face to face with Roman Reigns as the fans chanted “holy s**t.”

Brock Lesnar stared Reigns down as Paul Heyman and Reigns retreated. Lesnar then celebrated in the ring to a huge pop from the crowd while Heyman and Reigns walked away to end the show.
