Gronkowski also got in on the action at WrestleMania, as he won the WWE 24/7 Championship.
But shortly after it was revealed that he is returning to football to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and it looks like he’s been released from his WWE contract.
Wrestling Inc. is reporting that Rob Gronkowski had a release clause in his contract, and since he is returning to the NFL he exercised his release clause.
When he signed his contract back in March the original idea was that he would wrestle a match at SummerSlam in Boston in August.
It’s possible that Gronk could make appearances on WWE programming down the line, but there are currently no plans for him to wrestle.
