Over the last few years fans have been seeing a lot more of Dominik Mysterio on WWE programming, and he’s become a regular on Friday Night SmackDown. Rey and Dominik made history weeks ago when they became the first father-son team to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, and it seems that they have momentum on their side.

When it comes to solid tag teams fans always expect one member to turn on the other, but Rey Mysterio recently told Metro that we won’t be seeing him face his son in WWE.

“We actually talked about this a while back, when my son started to train. The more and more we got to spend time together in the ring and outside of the ring, it came to the point where me and my son were like, there’s no need.”

“The connection here is so beautiful, the love – more than father and son, I think we’re like best friends. For the moment, there’s no time for us to even be thinking, “how would it be like to face each other?”

Recently Rey Mysterio was destroyed by Roman Reigns last week on Friday Night SmackDown after he unsuccessfully challenged Reigns for the Universal Title inside Hell in a Cell. Stay tuned for more updates on Rey and Dominik Mysterio as they become available.
