Vince McMahon returned to WWE back in January to pursue a sale of the company and shortly after Stephanie McMahon announced that she was resigning from WWE. Following Vince’s retirement last year Stephanie took on the role of co-CEO with Nick Khan, but Khan is now the sole CEO in WWE following Stephanie’s departure.

Fightful Select is reporting that numerous sources related to WWE buyers have said that Stephanie McMahon could be a desired return. A source at Disney reportedly said that these companies are doing their due diligence and following news cycles regardless of their public levels of interest. It’s being said that potential buyers are aware of the things that make the audience and staff happy.

The perception seems to be that Stephanie McMahon brought a lot of positive to the company, and WWE’s progression under Nick Khan is also something that’s being played up.

CNBC has claimed that Comcast is out of the running when it comes to a potential sale. Fightful had spoken with sources at Comcast who noted that even though the company has had a long relationship with Vince McMahon there would be no desire on their end to keep him involved with the company.

Vince has claimed to higher ups and to those who know him personally that he would be interested in a potential sale that doesn’t involve him staying with WWE. It was noted that every source connected to a company that is rumored to have interest in the WWE sale have agreed that if Vince McMahon were to remain involved it would have a negative impact on the potential sale price, leverage and value of the brand.
