A few months ago Sheamus parted ways with WWE after he declined to sign a restructured contract and he recently became a free agent. Fans have been wondering if he could potentially show up in All Elite Wrestling as it was recently reported that some big names in the company have been pushing for AEW to sign Sheamus.
Sheamus is currently booked for The Big Event EXS comic-con in Brentwood, NY on 11/14 under the name S. Farrelly. The date is notable as it’s the same day as the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that in what could be a potential twist is that earlier this week Sheamus asked to leave the event early, claiming that he has a wedding to attend that day. It’s not clear at this point in time if Sheamus will indeed be showing up at Full Gear, but the situation is interesting to say the least.
AEW Full Gear is set to emanate from the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona on November 14th. Depending on what time Sheamus leaves The Big Event he could potentially make it in time for Full Gear, so it will be interesting to see if The Celtic Warrior is simply using the wedding claim to throw people off.
Stay tuned for updates.
