Sheamus had been with WWE for over two decades, but his run with the company came to an end a few months ago after he declined to sign a new restructured contract.
Fightful Select reports that Sheamus has not signed with All Elite Wrestling as of this writing, but there are people in the company who are pushing for him.
Sheamus is now officially a free agent, but there’s been no word regarding any substantial conversations between the former WWE Champion and All Elite Wrestling.
However, according to Fightful Select, some big, veteran names in AEW have pushed for the company to sign Sheamus. It’s also being said that a number of wrestlers who have worked with Sheamus in the past were hoping the signing would happen.
Tony Khan and AEW have been adamant about not speaking with upcoming free agents until they are contractually available to sign with the company. AEW has preferred to be cautious even though there would likely be no legal recourse in that situation.
Regarding other potential options for Sheamus, it’s being reported that a number of companies are interested in the Celtic Warrior, including Total Nonstop Action.
Stay tuned for updates.
