The wrestling world has been talking about a possible AEW return for CM Punk ever since the All Out pay-per-view last year, and it looks like it’s going to happen sooner than later. It’s been rumored that AEW could be bringing Punk back as soon as June to be star of their yet to be announced Saturday show.

With Punk’s AEW return on the horizon there’s been a lot of speculation regarding who he could feud with as many fans are hoping to see him work with The Elite. It’s been reported that CM Punk is willing to work with The Elite, but the group doesn’t seem to be as keen on the idea.

Andrew Zarian recently discussed potential plans for CM Punk’s AEW return on Wrestling Observer Live and he noted that CM Punk will probably be feuding with Chris Jericho when he makes his comeback.

“He [Punk] had recently said he wants to return to AEW and he wants to make it work. The issue here is he’s willing to work with The Elite members. I know as of the time I was told and early this week, there was no intention on the other side. Maybe Kenny a little bit more than The Bucks but they do not want to work with him. There’s been no dialogue between the two sides either about sitting down and making this work.”

“The way it was alluded to me is that the programme will probably be Punk and Jericho in some capacity. I don’t know if FTR’s involved or the Jericho Appreciation Society is involved…He’s [Jericho] willing to make this work.”

It’s worth noting that Chris Jericho has seemingly been teasing a potential feud with CM Punk by openly indicating on social media that he’s not interested in working with him, so it will be interesting to see how things play out. Stay tuned for updates.
