Business has certainly picked up on SmackDown in recent months, but there’s one name who hasn’t been in the mix and that is AJ Styles. The Phenomenal One was written off TV months ago following an attack at the hands of The Bloodline, and fans have been patiently waiting for his return.
It looks like we could be seeing AJ Styles sooner than later as Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current plan is for Styles to return to SmackDown on Friday.
“AJ Styles is gonna be back on Friday. Or he’s supposed to be back on Friday – he was supposed to be back a couple of weeks ago and wasn’t back. But that’s the plan right now.”
Last week Randy Orton made his return to SmackDown and he officially signed a deal to join the roster on the blue brand. This week CM Punk will be making his first appearance on SmackDown since his WWE return last month, so it should be an interesting show to say the least.
