Royal Rumble weekend is upon us and fans are hoping to see some big surprises when the show airs live from Saudi Arabia for the first time ever. Some major names have been confirmed for the Royal Rumble matches, and it seems that we could be seeing a debut at the event.
Fightful Select is reporting that WWE sources indicated Powerhouse Hobbs was scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia this week. There’s been speculation that he could be making his debut at the Royal Rumble, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
It was noted that Hobbs did not make the trip with the rest of the team that headed to Saudi Arabia after Raw, and there’s been no word of him popping up yet.
Hobbs was said to have been highly sought out for a renewal of his AEW contract. The Wrestling Observer recently reported that the offer was higher than anyone but what Chris Jericho earned in his first year with the company, and in line with what Bryan Danielson got when he jumped from WWE to AEW.
Powerhouse Hobbs is expected to use the name Royce Keys when he makes his debut with the company, and WWE stars who have spoken on the subject are excited to see him join the roster.
