This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was the first Raw after WrestleMania and it featured some interesting moments to say the least. The show kicked off with Cody Rhodes challenging Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa to a tag team match and Brock Lesnar offered to be The American Nightmare’s partner.

However, the tag team match never took place as Brock Lesnar turned on Cody before the match could start. The Beast Incarnate then proceeded to destroy Cody Rhodes for several minutes as he beat him down both in and outside of the ring.

Brock Lesnar has yet to explain the reason why he turned on Cody Rhodes, but this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown may have provided a hint. During the show Wade Barrett said that he heard Brock Lesnar attacked Cody Rhodes because he was mad that his match with Omos went on first at WrestleMania.

It’s not clear at this point in time if WWE will actually be pushing this angle for the Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes storyline, but it will be interesting to see if it’s brought up in the weeks to come. Recently it was reported that plans for Brock Lesnar’s feud with Cody were put in place about a month before WrestleMania 39. An official match has not been announced yet, but there’s speculation that Brock vs. Cody could take place at Backlash next month. Stay tuned for updates.
