It’s been a big week for Cody Rhodes as he challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event at WrestleMania 39. Unfortunately for Cody Rhodes he wasn’t able to capture the gold, and his situation got drastically worse the next night on Raw when Brock Lesnar destroyed him at the end of the show.

Fightful Select reports that the current plan is for Brock Lesnar to stick around and work a program with Cody Rhodes. It’s also being reported that plans for Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes to start their program were put in place well before Vince McMahon.

Sources close to the situation have said that Brock Lesnar was aware of his post-WrestleMania creative plans about a month ahead of time. It’s not clear if everyone in creative knew that this was the direction for Brock, but The Beast was aware of the plans.

A heel turn for Brock was hinted at with Brock not getting back into the ring with Omos, and backing out of the ring during some of his confrontations with Omos. It’s being said that creative plans for Brock to stand side by side with Cody on Raw then turn on him at the end of the show were in place a month before the Raw after WrestleMania.
