The Royal Rumble is one of WWE’s biggest shows of the year as it sets the stage for WrestleMania. This year Roman Reigns won the men’s Royal Rumble, but a very different name was considered for the spot before WWE creative nixed the plans.
In WWE Unreal season 3 it was revealed that originally Bron Breakker was supposed to win. However, the company decided against the plan due to concerns over shoving Bron Breakker down the throats of the fans.
“I think at Mania, Bron Breakker winning the Royal Rumble, and going in as the challenger, feels like a more organic build for him,” said Jonathan Baeckstrom WWE VP Creative Writing.
Triple H responded, “I feel like you could make a shocking moment out of it, but I still worry a little bit that it feels like you’re just shoving him down your throat.”

Ultimately Bron Breakker was attacked by a masked man who turned out to be Seth Rollins before he could enter the Royal Rumble match. Once he finally did enter he was quickly eliminated by Oba Femi. Shortly after it was confirmed that Breakker would have to step away from the ring to undergo hernia surgery, and he later returned at WrestleMania when he speared Seth Rollins.
Currently Bron Breakker is appearing on Monday Night Raw weekly as one half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions alongside Logan Paul, but he is seemingly very far away from the world title scene which he was involved with earlier this year.
