CM Punk parted ways with WWE in 2014, and he spent seven long years sitting on the sidelines. Eventually CM Punk made his triumphant return to professional wrestling when he joined All Elite Wrestling in August of 2021, but his run with the company has come to an end as Tony Khan recently confirmed that Punk was terminated with cause following a backstage incident at All In.

Now that CM Punk is done with AEW there’s been a lot of talk about whether or not WWE would be interested in bringing him back. During a recent interview with ESPN, Nick Khan was asked if CM Punk could potentially return to WWE, and while he didn’t offer a yes or no answer, he did has some positive words for the former WWE Champion.

“Listen, we only have respect for Phil. We appreciate his run here. We appreciate what he did and tried to do with the UFC. Not many people can actually get in there and do what he did. So, when we have respect for Phil, we wish him nothing but the best.”

CM Punk last wrestled for WWE in 2014 when he competed in the 30 man Royal Rumble match. He walked out of Monday Night Raw the next night and has yet to return. Whether or not WWE could bring him back in the future remains to be seen. Stay tuned for updates.
