We’re currently on the road to WWE SummerSlam, and Triple H recently confirmed that Nick Aldis will be facing Gunther at WWE’s biggest party of the summer. This week on SmackDown, Gunther and Aldis kicked off the show as they signed the contract for their upcoming match.
During the contract signing Adam Pearce announced that if Nick Aldis were to sign the contract he would relinquish his role as SmackDown General Manager until after SummerSlam and Pearce would temporarily take on the role.
Nick Aldis acknowledged what he was giving up, and said that if taking on Gunther means relinquishing his responsibilities, so be it. He then signed the contract.
Gunther told Nick Aldis that this match will be the greatest moment of his career, and the only reason he’s sitting here is because Aldis doesn’t know how to do his job. The Ring General accused Aldis of being jealous of him. Gunther told Aldis he’s just not good enough as he signed the contract. He then told Aldis he’s going to end his career.
Aldis told Gunther that he knows The Ring General has got himself into a situation he can’t get himself out of, and he’s put his career in jeopardy. He said that when he beats Gunther at SummerSlam he goes from the Career Killer, to the man that was made a b***h by his boss.
Gunther and Aldis then brawled and Gunther his Aldis with a low blow then powerbombed him through the table as WWE officials broke them up.
