Vince McMahon has been making headlines for weeks now after it was revealed that he paid $3 million dollars to a former employee that he allegedly had an affair with. The situation escalated today when the Wall Street Journal released a report noting that Vince had paid $12 million dollars in hush money payments to four women over 16 years.
When news of the allegations started to spread former WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James posted the following joke as a response: “No wonder I never got that raise… 🤷🏻♀️”
Mickie James didn’t receive the warmest response on social media as various people called her out for cracking a joke about the allegations.
Multiple colleagues of yours were allegedly abused. One SAed and covered up who's no longer here with us. Probably not the best time for a bad Twitter joke. https://t.co/qi3nvtLTge

She returned to WWE in 2016 and was later released once again in 2021. Following her release she returned to Impact Wrestling and she made a special appearance in the women’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year where she made her entrance with the Impact Knockouts Championship.
