There aren’t a lot of things you can do to hurt a company’s pay-per-view revenue other than getting the event pulled entirely, and that’s exactly what just happened to Ring Of Honor. Fans who ordered the ROH 15 Anniversary PPV prior to it being pulled were given refunds of their money, and people who relied on Dish Network for their entertainment stream were outraged and perplexed at this extreme decision.
The retraction of the Ring of Honor 15th Anniversary PPV was due to the cease and desist letters Impact Wrestling and Anthem Sports sent out to the Hardys and Ring Of Honor. It turns out they also sent similar letters to any pay-per-view provider that was trying to offer the event to fans.
Broken Matt Hardy isn’t a stranger to controversy, however, this is certainly a big blow to not only the wallets of everyone he’s working with, but their reputations as well. If you add on the fact he’s putting anyone he works with in legal jeopardy, then this action is surely a big one.
Matt Hardy isn’t taking the news lying down, and while he can’t do anything about Dish Network’s decision to pull the outstanding ROH pay-per-view, he can enlighten the masses and put things into perspective.
