It’s WrestleMania weekend and Drew McIntyre will be facing off against Sheamus and Gunther in a triple threat match where the Intercontinental Championship is on the line. Fans seem to be looking forward to the match, and there’s also been a lot of talk about Drew McIntyre’s contract status as it was reported by PWInsider that his deal is going to be expiring and he has not signed a new contract yet.

Fightful Select reports that Drew McIntyre’s contract is up within the next nine months. The report noted that Drew McIntyre has made it clear he won’t be signing anything until his current deal gets closer to expiration as there are many factors to consider.

According to the report Drew McIntyre’s deal is said to be “one of many” contracts that are currently set to expire by the end of 2024. WWE signed dozens of talents to five year deals back in 2019 when All Elite Wrestling first emerged.

It’s being said that under the Vince McMahon regime the company would likely wait until it got closer to contract expiration to renew deals. However, it’s not clear if Triple H is taking that same approach.

WWE is eager to keep Drew McIntyre on the roster and the hope is that the company can engage in talks with him later this year.
