It’s been a while since Roman Reigns has appeared on WWE programming as he successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Jey Uso at SummerSlam, then he appeared on the following episode of SmackDown, but he hasn’t been seen since.

Even though The Tribal Chief has been away from TV for some time now the expectation is that he will be returning soon to build up a title match against an unknown challenger at Crown Jewel.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that although WWE seems to be teasing a Roman Reigns vs. John Cena match by having The Bloodline and Paul Heyman refer to Cena as “the second greatest wrestler of all-time,” that doesn’t seem to be in the plans right now. John Cena is currently scheduled for Crown Jewel, but Reigns vs. Cena is not scheduled for the show.

John Cena will be in action on Saturday when he teams up with LA Knight to face Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso at Fastlane. At this point Roman’s next challenger hasn’t been confirmed. Stay tuned for updates.
