This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was the final SmackDown on FOX, and the show kicked off with a Cody Rhodes promo. Solo Sikoa confronted Cody in the middle of the ring and said that he could have been champion. Sikoa told Cody he would have beat him at SummerSlam if it wasn’t for Roman Reigns, so he deserves a rematch.

Cody Rhodes responded by telling Solo that there should be an Undisputed WWE Championship match on the season premiere of SmackDown next week. The fans started chanting “we want Roman!” The American Nightmare said “you” indeed deserve an Undisputed WWE Championship match. He then told Solo that he isn’t talking to him, he’s talking to “you” and he singled out Jacob Fatu. Rhodes told Fatu to “step up.” Jacob got up on the apron seemingly ready to accept the challenged, but Solo stared him down before he could enter the ring. Fatu told Solo that he loves him, and he’s his brother, then he got off the apron as the fans booed.

Rhodes said it was worth a shot. He told Solo that The Bloodline revolves around him, but the WWE revolves around the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Solo called Cody out for trying to get Jacob to turn on him. Sikoa told him he’s on for next week, but they don’t have to wait for next week. The Bloodline got in the ring and prepared to attack Cody, but The Street Profits and DIY appeared out of nowhere to back him up.

Nick Aldis stopped everyone and told the wrestlers in the ring not to proceed unless they want to be fined. He told The Bloodline, DIY and The Street Profits that they can tear each other apart in the eight man tag match tonight.

Aldis then made Solo Sikoa vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship official for SmackDown next week. The SmackDown General Manager said the numbers game is getting old, so the match will be held inside a steel cage.
