This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from Albany, New York and it kicked off with Gunther making his way to the ring.
Adam Pearce confronted Gunther and he told him that if it were up to him he would fire Gunther for what he did to Nick Aldis. However, the decision isn’t up to him, and Nick Aldis petitioned to make sure Gunther’s tag match would still move forward at Saturday Night’s Main Event, with a big stipulation.
Pearce told Gunther that he choked Nick Aldis out before he could announce it, but if Gunther and Sami Zayn can beat CM Punk and Cody at Saturday Night’s Main Event they will be added to the Undisputed WWE Championship bout at SummerSlam to make it a four way match.
Cody then ran out and tried to attack Gunther as The Ring General retreated. Cody told him he’s not going to make it to Saturday Night’s Main Event and he challenged Gunther to a one on one match on SmackDown. Adam Pearce then confirmed the match for tonight’s show.
