Roman Reigns competed in his 11th WrestleMania main event back in April when he challenged CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, and ultimately The Tribal Chief walked away with the gold after he defeated The Second City Saint. Ever since then Reigns has had a target on his back and it seems that two top names are being positioned to challenge him for the title.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that a match between LA Knight and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is currently on the table. There’s said to be a strong sense internally that the match will take place at the Money in the Bank premium live event.
It was also noted that after speaking with talent, WrestleVotes learned that the feeling backstage in WWE is that Penta will be winning the tournament being held to determine who will challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in Mexico City.
A source within WWE reportedly views the tournament as a unique opportunity in the Mexican market, and the belief is that Penta is the right choice to capitalize on that opportunity, regardless of which talents are, or aren’t being featured in the tournament.
