Kofi Kingston is a WWE veteran at this point, and throughout his career he’s held the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, and various incarnations of the WWE Tag Team Titles.
Kofi has held the Tag Team Championship 7 different times with several different partners, and he’s only days away from becoming the longest reigning tag team champion in WWE history.
A Reddit user recently pointed out that Billy Gunn held the World Tag Team Championship for a total of 916 days, and the WWE Tag Team Championship for 37 days throughout his career.
Gunn has a total of 953 days as a tag team champion observed by WWE.
The New Day successfully defended the SmackDown Tag Team Titles at Hell in a Cell on Sunday, and as of today Kofi Kingston has a total of 946 days as a tag team champion in WWE.
It seems that Kofi is on the verge of breaking a record that has been held for quite some time, and unless The New Day end up dropping the titles soon, he will become the longest reigning tag team champion in WWE history by next week.
