broken hardys

The Broken Hardys are the talk of the wrestling world right now thanks to the fact that they recently parted ways with Impact Wrestling. Shortly after their departure everyone was guessing that it would only be a matter of time before they returned to WWE. However, The Hardys swerved the world when they showed up at Manhattan Mayhem and defeated The Young Bucks to win the ROH Tag Team Titles.

After The Hardys won the belts, Matt announced that they had signed a deal with ROH, and everyone has been trying to confirm the length of the deal. Although Jeff Hardy didn’t confirm the exact length of the contract, he did recently speak to SEScoops.com and he revealed that they signed a short term deal.

“We do, it’s a short term deal and it’s cool because we can still work the indies like we’ve been doing. We’ve really had a good time on the independent circuit. We sell a lot of merchandise and take a lot of pictures with fans. It’s great to be your own boss and being able to do TV with Ring of Honor as well.”

The Broken Universe has breathed new life into the career of The Hardys, but the status of the Broken Universe seems to be up in the air right now as Impact Wrestling is claiming that they are the rightful owners of the concept.

Jeff Hardy did say that the Broken Universe is “in limbo” right now, but he’s confident that they will come out on top when their battle with Impact comes to an end. He also noted that if they are able to maintain ownership of the Broken Universe, he would love to bring it to WWE.

“I would love to introduce the Broken Universe to WWE eventually. I think it would be huge. As far as character driven or just a fresh vibe in in the pro wrestling world, yeah I think eventually I’m sure I’m going to jump back into the solo dimension and I’d love to be the world champion again. In my career in WWE, if it works out, the whole Hall of Fame and all that stuff. It started there and I’d like to end there. For now, I’m just having a blast doing the indies and I love the Broken Universe stuff with Matt, I think it’s the best thing he’s ever done. It’s just hard to keep a straight face around him at times, but he can be serious and make sense in a weird way, it’s just so fun. I hope it lasts as long as it can.”

Although there will likely be a lot of speculation surrounding Matt and Jeff Hardy in the weeks to come, Jeff has at least answered one of the questions everyone has been asking by confirming the ROH deal is short term.

He also confirmed that the team is interested in bringing the Broken Universe to WWE, so there’s certainly hope for anyone out there who might be hoping to see the team return to the company that helped make them stars.
