James Storm is one of several top stars who recently finished up with Impact Wrestling, and now wrestling fans are waiting to see what’s next for the former World Champion. Last time Storm parted ways with the company, he worked a few dates for NXT before ultimately returning to Impact, but in interviews he has said that the door is open for him to return.
Now Storm is once again a free agent, and during an interview with Sports Illustrated he made it clear that his ultimate goal is to join the WWE roster.
“My ultimate goal is to go to WWE,” said Storm. “The WWE has such a grip on the world, it’s pretty amazing, and I believe I still have a lot to give. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been. When I left Impact, I told people this isn’t my last stop, it’s just time for me to get on a new horse.”
Storm is an Impact Wrestling veteran, and during the golden age of the company he worked with names like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and others who have all gone on to find success in WWE.
Out of all the names James Storm faced, Bobby Roode was arguably his greatest foe, and also his greatest partner during his time in Impact.
Roode recently won the United States Championship on SmackDown Live, and Storm says that his former partner is someone he wants to face again.
“Roode is one of the guys I love to be in the ring with because we just love to beat each other up,” said Storm. “Me and Roode have so much chemistry together. We wrestled each other as singles, then tagged together in Beer Money, then wrestled against one another again.”
