For years John Cena was the face of the WWE, and he was also the ultimate good guy. That all changed on Saturday night when John Cena destroyed Cody Rhodes, aligned himself with The Rock, and turned heel at Elimination Chamber.

Hulk Hogan knows a thing or two about heel turns as his turn at Bash at the Beach in 1996 is still talked about to this day. Many people have been comparing John Cena’s heel turn to Hulk Hogan’s following Elimination Chamber. Both turns had quite the impact and Hulk Hogan recently explained to Sports Illustrated why he thinks John Cena’s big moment was one of the best heel turns he’s seen in a long time.

“It’s one of the best heel turns I’ve seen in a long, long time. All the major players were involved. I can’t say enough about The Rock, too–he was incredible. They did it right, I’ll tell you that.”

“It’s going to work as long as John wants to stay plugged in. I don’t know his schedule or how many days he’ll work, but he definitely has everyone’s attention. Plus, The Rock is involved, too. This could heat up more than anyone is expecting. It could be so hot that it’s crazy, which will lead to a WrestleMania match you’ll never forget.”

Fans won’t have to wait much longer for John Cena’s next appearance on WWE programming as he’s currently being advertised for Raw on March 17, 24 and 31.

Stay tuned for updates.
