The Hardy Boyz lost a brutal cage match at Extreme Rules to Sheamus and Cesaro. Not only did it take a toll on the veteran tag team’s bodies but they lost their Raw Tag Team Championships in the process.
The Monday Night Raw after Extreme Rules was a night full of excitement and intense story lines. But Matt and Jeff Hardy were nowhere to be seen.
While they played off the Hardys absence by saying the greatest team in space and time were simply licking their wounds the truth might not be that worrying. The fact is Matt’s wife Reby is due to have their second child any day now and Cage Side Seats reports it was planned a long time ago for Matt to miss the show so he could be by Queen Rebecca’s side.
It just so happened that the Hardy Boyz missing Raw fell in line with them losing the Raw Tag Team Championships to Sheamus and Cesaro on the previous night.
On another Raw note, backstage officials are said to be very happy with the way The Drifter Elias Samson has been working out since they brought him up from NXT. WWE top brass are apparently pleased with the way he’s been portrayed on TV and the gimmick seems to be getting over well.
The current plan for Samson is for him to take over a feud with Dean Ambrose once The Lunatic Fringe is separated from Miz. Therefore fans can expect to see a decent push for Elias Samson in the upcoming weeks.
The Drifter is expected to assist Miz and help end his feud with Dean Ambrose. Then he is likely going to pick up where Miz left off. This is certainly great news for Elias Samson as he has already had a better run during his short time on the main roster than he ever did in NXT.
