Jey Uso punched his ticket to WrestleMania when he won the Royal Rumble back in February, and he went on to defeat Gunther to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All. Since then Jey Uso has been a fighting champion and he put his title on the line against Gunther in the main event of WWE Raw this week.
Throughout the match Gunther targeted Jey Uso’s ribs. He ripped off Uso’s vest to reveal that the champion’s ribs were wrapped up. The Ring General took advantage as Jey Uso struggled to fight back.
Finally Jey got the momentum on his side when he connected with a spear followed by an Uso Splash, but Gunther kicked out at two. Gunther tried to put Jey Uso away with a powerbomb and Jey kicked out. When Jey got back up Gunther hit the champion with a spear of his own only for Jey Uso to kick out at two.
The Ring General picked Jey up then knocked him back down with a clothesline. Jey stood up as Gunther hit him with two clotheslines. Uso no sold them then asked for another.
The champion connected with a superkick on Gunther followed by a spear. Uso went for another splash, but Gunther moved out of the way and then locked in the sleeper hold on Jey Uso after he landed. Jey eventually got out and locked in a sleeper of his own. However, Gunther fought out of it then put Jey Uso back in the sleeper and Jey passed out to end the match.
As the show went off the air Jey Uso’s son checked on his father while Gunther celebrated with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as pyro went off.
