This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was filmed in Bologna, Italy and the following matches took place:
– Show kicked off with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett welcoming everyone to SmackDown. Gunther quickly interrupted and started ripping up the announce table. He jumped on top of the announce table and demanded justice for what happened at Clash in Italy. Cody’s music hit and The American Nightmare made his way out into the arena. Rhodes told Gunther he’s right and offered up a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Championship on tonight’s show. Sami Zayn interrupted, and said both Cody and Gunther did him wrong. Gunther attacked Cody from behind, Sami attacked Gunther, then Sami pulled him out of the ring. Cody went for a dive on Gunther, but hit Sami by accident instead as Gunther got out of the way. Rhodes offered his hand to Sami and Sami left him hanging then walked away.
– Miz was shown backstage FaceTiming Kit Wilson. He showed Danhausen’s experiment to Kit and Danhausen told him not to touch anything. Miz started destroying Danhausen’s equipment and Miz accidentally electrocuted himself.
– Gunther confronts Nick Aldis backstage and says he treats him like he doesn’t belong. He told Aldis to “fix this” or he’ll get his legal team involved.
– Queen of the Ring first round fatal four way match – Raquel Rodriguez vs. Bayley vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Kiana James: Near the end of the match Kiana James pinned Bayley and put her legs on the rope. Jacy Jayne pushed her legs up, but Kiana didn’t see it, so she blamed Giulia instead. The match came to an end when Raquel hit Kiana James with the Tejana Bomb and pinned her. After the match Giulia picked Kiana up and she pushed her away. Kiana went off on Giulia and said she did everything for her, and they’re done. Giulia snapped and started pummeling Kiana as Kiana rolled out of the ring and left.
– Sami Zayn was shown backstage talking to Johnny Gargano. Nick Aldis told Sami to stay out of Cody and Gunther’s business. Aldis said he has an important meeting and Chad Gable appeared behind Sami.
– Royce Keys vs. Talla Tonga: Outside the ring Tama Tonga jumped off the steps and tried to hit Royce Keys, but Keys hit him to knock him down. Keys got back in the ring then walked into a big boot and a T-Bomb. Talla Tonga then pinned Keys to win the match. Solo, Tama and Talla tried to beat down Keys after the match and R-Truth came out to make the save, but he got beat down as well. Damian Priest saved R-Truth and left Keys alone in the ring. Solo told Keys that it didn’t have to be like this, but now it’s personal.
– Backstage Liv Morgan, JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio celebrated with Raquel Rodriguez. Liv said she and Dominik are going to become King and Queen of the Ring and Raquel got upset.
– R-Truth and Damian Priest were arguing backstage and Priest told Truth he doesn’t trust Royce Keys. He said he’s focused on King of the Ring. Truth asked if they should check on Keys, and Priest told Truth he’s not a doctor. Truth said his brother was, meaning John Cena, and Priest told him he doesn’t have a brother. AAA Tag Team Champions The War Raiders challenged R-Truth to put his and Priest tag titles on the line against their’s and Truth said he’s never seen them a day in his life.
– Rhea Ripley made her way to the ring. She said she’s finally put the Jade chapter behind her. Ripley brought up how Charlotte Flair helped her at Clash in Italy, and Charlotte came out. Charlotte told Rhea that Queen of the Ring is in a few weeks, and it’s going to be her standing in front of Rhea at SummerSlam, because she still has what she wants. Tiffany Stratton interrupted then told Ripley she wants her title. Jade Cargill and The Baddies entered the picture. Cargill told Rhea she’s coming after what’s her’s then started walking toward the ring. Nick Aldis told Rhea she’s in no condition to compete. Charlotte interrupted and suggested Jade pick either Michin or B-Fab to face off against her and Tiffany Stratton. Aldis agreed.
– Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill & Michin: At the end of the match Stratton went to the top for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Cargill knocked her down then hit Jaded and pinned her to win the match for her team.
– Cathy Kelley interviewed Fatal Influence backstage and Jacy interrupted Paige & Brie Bella in the middle of a photo shoot. Fatal Influence beat down Paige & Brie then picked up the Women’s Tag Team Titles and dropped them.
– R-Truth checked on Royce Keys and Keys told him he appreciates everything he’s been doing for him. Truth suggested Keys should team up with Damian Priest to take down MFT, but Keys said if Priest wants an issue then that’s what he’s going to get.
– Ricky Saints vs. Carmelo Hayes: Ricky attacked Carmelo Hayes before the bell rang. After a solid back and forth match Saints picked up the win when he rolled Carmelo up and grabbed his tights.
– Trick Williams was interviewed by Cathy Kelley backstage and she asked how he’s preparing for King of the Ring. He said he’s going to punch his ticket to SummerSlam and win the world championship and become a double champion. Bron Breakker approached Trick and got in his face then walked off.
– Chelsea Green asked Tiffany Stratton why she didn’t tell her she was going out into the arena, because she would have backed her up. She told Tiffany she was going out to the ring and asked Tiffany if she could count on her support, but Tiffany told Chelsea she was going to the trainer’s room, so Chelsea was on her own.
– Lash Legend vs. Chelsea Green: Near the end of the match Chelsea tried for the Unprettier, but Lash counterd with the Last Extension to pick up the win.
– Royce Keys was icing up his ribs as Solo asked him why he’s being so difficult. He asked if he saw how Roman made Jacob kneel like a dog. Solo told Royce he needs backup. Keys resisted. Solo said they need to get ready for war, and Keys needs to stop being so difficult, or he will make things difficult.
– Fraxiom spoke to Rey Fenix backstage and Fenix said he wants to defend the AAA Cruiserweight Championship all over the world, so if they want a shot they just have to ask. Chad Gable asked if he could have a moment alone with Fenix. He said they had a great match at WrestleMania when he was El Grande Americano. However, he made a mockery of lucha libre, so he flew to Italy to apologize to Rey Fenix. Rey told Gable he forgives him, but to remember he’s not the only one he offended.
– Cody was walking backstage and Nick Aldis asked if the offer for a rematch with Gunther is still good. Cody said it is. Aldis told Cody that Gunther’s legal team will only accept the rematch under one condition, but they have to wait until next week to hear what the condition is. Rhodes suggested they should do the title match on SmackDown in two weeks and Aldis agreed.
– King of the Ring first round fatal four way match Trick Williams vs. Bron Breakker vs. Damian Priest vs. Dominik Mysterio: Near the end of the match Priest hit Dominik with the Razor’s Edge, but Liv Morgan distracted the referee. Bron Breakker tried to press Damian Priest, but he dropped him. Trick attacked Bron. Dominik set Breakker up for the 619 and Bron speared Priest. Trick hit the Trick Shot on Priest and Dom pulled the ref out of the ring while he was counting the pin. Bron jumped off the apron and put Trick through the announce table. Dom went for the 619 again on Priest, but Priest clotheslined him. Priest tried for South of Heaven, but JD McDonagh interfered. He hit South of Heaven on JD then tried to hit it on Dominik, but Liv attacked Priest from behind. Dominik followed up with the 619 then a Frog Splash to win the match.
