Over the last year or so a number of big names have retired from professional wrestling such as Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles to name a few. Now another retirement has been confirmed.
During a recent livestream Lisa Marie Varon (formerly known as Victoria in WWE) confirmed that she is officially retired from in-ring competition, and indicated that it’s unlikely her status will change.
“I retired. My body hurts. I still do appearances, and Whatnot is my new favorite thing,” Varon said.
Lisa Marie Varon first started working with WWE in the year 2000, and in the years that followed she went on to become a two time WWE Women’s Champion.
She parted ways with WWE in 2009 and went on to join Total Nonstop Action under the name Tara. During her run with the company she quickly became a top name in the Knockouts division and managed to win the Knockouts Championship five times and the Knockouts Tag Team Championship one time alongside Brooke Tessmacher. She parted ways with TNA Wrestling in 2013.
In 2021, Lisa Marie Varon returned to WWE as Victoria when she entered the women’s Royal Rumble match. She also returned to TNA Wrestling in 2023, and last stepped into the ring when she teamed with Gisele Shaw to face Jessicka & Taya Valkyrie on the 1/14/2023 episode of Impact.
