Over the years fans have seen some strong alliances fall apart and in 2020 the tag team of Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose quickly went from best friends to bitter rivals.
Sonya and Mandy faced off at SummerSlam in a Loser Leaves WWE match which saw Mandy Rose pick up the win. During a Q&A session for Monopoly Events, Mandy Rose talked about the original plans for SummerSlam and she revealed that the idea was for her to face Sonya in a Hair vs. Hair match.
“Working with Sonya was great because we were best friends and knew each other so well. There was no bad will, we always took care of each other. We were each other all the time, so we talked about wrestling.
Working with her during that whole time, it was weird again, because of COVID, unfortunately. If we did do the hair vs. hair match, would I have shaved my head? It depends, they would have had to pay me to shave my head a little more.”
Mandy Rose was released from WWE in 2022, and she has yet to return to wrestling. However, she has stated that she hasn’t completely closed the door on her wrestling career as she could potentially step back into the ring under the right circumstances someday.
