It looks like a former WWE Women’s Champion will be returning soon, as PWInsider is reporting that multiple sources have confirmed Mickie James has signed a new deal, and she’s expected to return to SmackDown Live.

Mickie James recently returned at NXT TakeOver: Toronto, and she challenged Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship. Mickie received rave reviews for her performance in the match, and after the event Triple H indicated that the ball was in Mickie’s court in regards to her future with the company.
According to the report, Mickie James has signed a multi-year deal, and she’s expected to join SmackDown in January of 2017.
Mickie James is a veteran of the business, and it’s not hard to see how she could be a valuable asset to WWE’s Women’s division as she can clearly still go in the ring. Mickie James is a former WWE Women’s Champion, former Divas Champion, and she’s also a three time TNA Knockouts Champion, so she has a lot of experience to share with the rest of the roster.
