The annual Royal Rumble premium live event emanated from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN on Saturday night and the show kicked off in a big way.
Charlotte Flair won the women’s Royal Rumble in the opening match, and the action continued as DIY defended the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Motor City Machine Guns in the second match of the night.
The title match had a two out of three falls stipulation and Tommaso Ciampa faked a tag to Johnny Gargano at one point and Gargno went along with it. While Alex Shelley was distracted thinking Gargano was the legal opponent, Ciampa hit Shelley with a running knee then pinned him to score the first fall.

At one point two hooded figures appeared and it turned out to be The Street Profits. Angelo Dawkins hit Alex Shelley with a crutch when he was standing in the corner then DIY capitalized when they picked up the third pin to retain the titles.
After the match Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford beat down DIY and held up the WWE Tag Team Titles. The Street Profits walked to the back as the segment came to an end.
