Last summer WWE introduced a new tournament called the Cruiserweight Classic which aired on the WWE Network. The tournament featured some of the most talented cruiserweights in the world, and it gave them a platform to showcase their skills.

This summer WWE will be doing something similar with an all women’s tournament called the Mae Young Classic. There’s been a lot of speculation and rumors as of late in regards to who might be competing in the tournament, and now WWE has officially announced the first four competitors.

It was recently confirmed that reigning PROGRESS Women’s Champion Toni Storm, NXT stars Lacey Evans and Sarah Logan and masked wrestling veteran Princess Sugehit will all be joining the tournament.

When everything is said and done there will be 32 women who enter tournament, and other rumored names include  Bianca Blair, Lacey Evans, Taynara Melo, Sarah Logan, Kimber Lee, Julia Ho, Victoria Gonzalez, Mary-Kate, Danielle Kamela, Zhao Xia, Nixon Newell, Evie, Demi Bennett, Kairi Hojo, Thea Trinidad, Marti Belle, Mia Yim.

The tournament will be taping at Full Sail University on July 13th and 14th, so it’s likely that more participants will be confirmed soon.
