royal rumble

The Royal Rumble has come and gone and we’re now officially on the road to WrestleMania 39. The show was the first Royal Rumble under the new WWE regime and it sounds like things went well for the most part.

Fightful Select reports that Vince McMahon was not seen at the Royal Rumble and his influence was not felt at the premium live event. One talent noted that the process of the Royal Rumble itself was the easiest it’s been in a long time without Vince McMahon involved. It was also added that there were way less last minute changes this year and it was described as a dream compared to the 2022 Royal Rumble.

Contacts within and around WWE stated that morale had never been lower than it was around the time of the 2022 Royal Rumble. Now it’s being said that the atmosphere is much more laid back on a day to day and weekly basis.

Roman Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens in the main event, and talent noted that it was a “new age curtain sellout” with many people watching angle with The Bloodline and Sami Zayn play out. NXT talent also expressed optimism in regard to WWE lifting the one year ban on NXT talent being in the Royal Rumble.
