Jon Moxley defended his AEW World Championship against CM Punk in the main event at All Out and when it was all said and done CM Punk picked up the victory and walked out with the gold. However, after the show CM Punk was involved in a backstage altercation with The Elite, and it was later revealed that Punk suffered an injury during his match with Moxley.

Lat week Jon Moxley showed up on AEW Dynamite and he cut a passionate promo while he briefly alluded to the fact that he was supposed to take a vacation following the pay-per-view. Robert Anthony recently appeared on the The Tyrus and Timpf podcast and he noted that Moxley was originally supposed to be away from AEW for 6 weeks.

“[Moxley’s] doing good. Man, he was supposed to be on vacation, six weeks, we were going to go fishing. Now he’s back to work, he’s not too happy about it.”

“He’s p***ed off and he’s back at work and he cut a hell of a promo on Wednesday. We’ll see where it goes, you know what I mean? It’s just a lot of negatives in the positives over there.”

Jon Moxley is currently in the AEW World Title tournament and he will face Sammy Guevara in a semifinal match on Dynamite this week. The winner of that match will then face the winner of Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho in the finals at AEW Grand Slam on September 21st.
