cm punk

CM Punk sent the wrestling world into a frenzy after he won the AEW World Title then went off on Colt Cabana, Adam Page and The Elite at the All Out post-show media scrum.

Punk apparently suffered an injury during the All Out main event, and Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the injury is expected to keep CM Punk on the sidelines for about eight months.

“He may have already undergone surgery, but either way he’s undergoing surgery. It was not confirmed to me it was a torn triceps, but it was confirmed to me that it’s surgery for a torn muscle in the arm, so it’s triceps/biceps, maybe pec, but probably triceps. And that’s usually about an eight-month recovery period. So he was gonna be stripped of the title either way (regardless of the fight).

“Punk’s out for eight months, or whatever it’s going to be, six months/eight months, whatever. If he’s not let go. And a lot of people don’t want him back.”

Following the post-show media scrum CM Punk and Ace Steel got into a physical altercation with The Elite. Tony Khan kicked off Dynamite this week and announced that the AEW Championship and AEW Trios Championship had been vacated.

Later in the night new AEW Trios Champions were crowned when Death Triangle defeated Best Friends. A tournament for the AEW World Championship is currently in progress. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
