Last year at the AEW All In pay-per-view, Christian Cage won the Casino Gauntlet match to earn a contract which guaranteed him a shot at the AEW World Championship. For months now Christian has been waiting for his moment, and he finally cashed in the title shot on Saturday night at AEW Revolution.

During the Cope vs. Jon Moxley match for the AEW World Championship, Christian hit Cope in the head with the contract then signed it and entered the match. Christian tried to take Cope out with the Spear followed by the Killswitch, but Moxley ended up choking Christian out to retain the title.

Fightful Select reports that the show ending segment for AEW Revolution was pitched to Christian Cage during the week leading up to the pay-per-view.

It’s not clear where things will go from here, but it’s also being reported that several major matches have been pitched for AEW for spring and summer. The company has an idea for the AEW Dynasty main event that’s come up within the last few weeks.

During AEW Revolution, Swerve Strickland picked up a major win over Ricochet to become the new number one contender for the AEW World Championship. As the show was going off the air Swerve Strickland jump off the balcony and hit Mox with the Swerve Stomp as he was trying to leave with the briefcase that presumably holds the AEW World Championship.
