The wrestling world is full of potential championships for wrestlers to win and there are currently quite a few title belts that are being used in WWE.

Back in 2011, Matt Cardona introduced the world to the Internet Championship when he debuted the belt on his Z! True Long Island Story show on YouTube. Since then Cardona has defended the title a handful of times, and now it seems that the belt could be making a comeback.

Recently Matt Cardona seemingly teased the return of the Internet Championship when he indicated that he almost brought the belt to Friday Night SmackDown this week.

“I’ve been feeling so strange since being shocked in @danhausenad’s lab. I almost packed this championship to bring to #SmackDown.”

Matt Cardona was recently electrocuted when he was in Danhausen’s lab, and since then he’s been acting a lot more like Zack Ryder, and less like Matt Cardona. Other names who have been shocked in Danhausen’s lab include Kit Wilson, The Miz and JD McDonagh. All three men have taken on drastically different personalities since then.

With Cardona seemingly embracing his inner Zack Ryder it will be interesting to see if the fan favorite character, and his coveted Internet Championship return to WWE programming in the weeks to come.
