WrestleMania 41 was an eventful show to say the least. Originally Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez were set to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against Bayley & Lyra Valkyria during night two of the show. However, Bayley was pulled from the match after WWE wrote her out when they did an angle on WrestleMania Saturday showing that she had been attacked backstage.
Becky Lynch ended up returning and she replaced Bayley in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match, but WWE’s decision to pull Bayley from WrestleMania was met with a lot of backlash from fans on social media.
Lyra Valkyria recently discussed the match on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, and the current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion openly stated that she was genuinely upset that Bayley was pulled from the show.
“In WWE, especially since I’ve come to Raw, I feel like I’ve had this natural connection with Bayley outside of the ring. It kind of just manifested inside the ring, like we really, really clicked.
“Having my Mania moment come as an expense to her, that was genuinely very upsetting. It’s a very big shame to see her out at the moment.”
Lyra Valkyria will be in action this weekend as she’s currently set to defend her WWE Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch at the Backlash premium live event.
